Somatic Immersion: A Unique Yoga Therapy Journey

Join me for this deep dive into the language of the body. Through movement, breathwork and meditation, we'll explore a body/mind/brain conversation that will lead to both insight and a felt sense of safety, and connection.

My deepest intention for this course is two-fold:

  1. By steeping yourself in this conversation with the body, you will cultivate a felt sense of inner safety and connection.

  2. By listening more deeply to the unique language of your body, you will gain valuable and actionable insights that will enhance your life in significant and ongoing ways.

"This course has been really incredible. I am so grateful for all the options for access that were offered and the unlimited access as well. I have loved being able to repeat weeks for better understanding and practice.  Thank you for this great offering!"

-Dina

What makes this course unique?

  • I take an individualized approach to wellness so this is not a cookie cutter experience focused solely on relaxation techniques. You'll receive a library of practices and resources to help you respond to the specific needs of your body and mind.

  • My work springs from the intersection of yoga, mindfulness, neuroscience, psychology, embodiment and nature-based practice. This integrative body, mind, brain approach is easily digestible, actionable and effective.

  • Over the last 20 years, I’ve created a unique blend of evidence-based practices that will rewire your brain to grow states of calm, connection and self-compassion and I can say with absolute confidence that they work!

My 5-Pillar Yoga Therapy Model

This framework grew from two decades of one-on-one and group yoga therapy offerings.

Over the years I've watched clients arrive at turning points — finally understanding the protective logic of their own nervous system, making a subtle shift toward self-friendliness, or discovering that two parts of themselves in long-standing conflict could actually come into cooperation. These moments weren't random. They came from the weaving of these five pillars:

  • Nervous system regulation:

We'll explore the role of the nervous system and the basics of emotional regulation and polyvagal theory. We each have a tendency towards fight, flight or freeze and each requires a different set of tools and practices to bring us back to our parasympathetic or social engagement system. We'll explore the difference between hyper and hypoarousal and approach each with a different set of tools.

  • Self-compassion:

Self-compassion is the super-power we all need to feel safe and at home in our bodies. Without it, healing and integration is often elusive. Self-compassion training is an essential aspect of this therapeutic model.

  • Deep listening::

We take in information through our sensations, thoughts, emotions and images but our tendency is to default to only one or two of those pathways. Paying attention to all four, broadens our perspective and give us more access to our inner landscape.

  • Somatic parts-work:

Learning how to be in dialogue with different parts of our selves, our bodies, and our psyches helps us understand our emotions and our actions. Guiding somatic parts work is an excellent tool to support a deeper knowing of ourselves while building empathy and self-compassion.

  • Deep imagery/active imagination:

Our bodies and psyches often speak the language of metaphor. Inviting our imagination into the conversation gives us more access to our inner truths than our cognition alone can offer.

None of us escape traumatic experiences.

We live in a world that presents us with difficulties everyday, so whether we are experiencing personal or collective trauma, it is unfortunately part of life as we know it.

The latest research on trauma and the nervous system shows that embodied mindfulness practices are an essential part of the healing and resilience-building process.

As a yoga therapist and instructor, I have  been developing and teaching mind/body and trauma sensitive practices for over 20 years.
