Ready to feel more calm and connected?

Let's support each other through this 30-day journey.

Each week we will have a 90 minute zoom class supported by 5 self-paced modules with recorded guided meditations and movement practices, journal and nature-based prompts, and accountability circles.

Classes will be recorded in the event that you can’t make it or would like to rewatch.

Enrollment is limited to 12-15 students

Online does not mean unsupported - we're in this together!

In this experiential online course you’ll rewire your nervous system, leaving you feeling more calm and connected.

Together we’ll learn:

  • How the nervous system works and the basics of polyvagal theory.

  • How to shift from the fear and anxiety we experience when the sympathetic nervous system is activated to the safety and calm we feel when our parasympathetic or social engagement system is activated.

  • How to shift out of the freeze response that leaves us feeling checked-out, numb, stuck, or paralyzed.

  • How to move from isolation and loneliness to connection and courage.

This course is for you if:

  • You find yourself in fight, flight or freeze (in other words, your super-stressed or super-shut down) and you don’t feel like you have much control over it.

  • You’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or fearful and it’s really hard to relax.

  • You feel checked out and are spending a lot of time mindlessly scrolling, eating, binging, etc.

  • You sometimes feel disconnected as if you are a head walking around without a body or a body walking around without a head.

  • You are committed to dedicating some time each day to mindfulness practices and can either attend our weekly class or watch the replay.

  • You are a mental health or wellness professional interested in offering your clients embodied mindfulness tools to help them decrease stress and regulate their nervous system.

*Please note that if you are in crisis, this course is not a replacement for therapy although it can be a powerful and often essential addition.

You're Worth It!

Building a healthy, resilient nervous system takes attention, practice and commitment. There is no magic pill and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

Gifting yourself with a 30 day commitment to YOU is way to grow self-compassion and self-love. It’s a gift that says says, you are worth it - your well-being is important, your body, mind AND brain are important - and feeling present, calm, engaged and alive is important.

Give yourself the gift of “you’re worth it” and join us.

"Rachel’s depth of knowledge shines through experiential activities thoughtfully assembled and presented with warmth and authenticity. Rachel’s offerings are an indelible resource to longtime practitioners as well as the newbie."

~ Steve

Together we are safer, calmer, braver and stronger.

Regulating our nervous systems requires that we cultivate an internal sense of safety. And building safety is more accessible when we feel supported and connected.

That's part of why the pandemic has been so incredibly difficult. Over the past couple of years many of us have felt unsafe and afraid. And at the same time, we’ve experienced isolation, loneliness and disconnection.

Community is an absolute necessity when it comes to rewiring your nervous system. And being in it together is an essential part of this course.

By learning and practicing with a dedicated, small group of students, you’ll feel supported and seen. You’ll be reminded  that you are not alone, that we are all struggling and our struggles are both unique and collective.

Here’s how it works:

  • We'll meet 90 minutes, once a week for 5 consecutive weeks on Zoom.

  • This recorded class will include weekly teachings, small group reflections and embodied mindfulness practices including movement and guided meditations.

  • You’ll receive recorded weekly practices and recommendations as well as journal and nature prompts and additional resources. These, as well as the recorded class will be available to you indefinitely.

  • You’ll connect with a small group of students and an accountability partner (unless you choose to decline) to support you in staying on track.

  • You’ll have access to me via email and quick phone or zoom chats throughout the 30 days should you have questions or need additional support.

  • If you’d like to pair the course with yoga therapy or mindfulness mentoring, you’ll also have access to discounted one-on-one sessions.

  • You'll have free access to a Your Yoga membership for the duration of the course should you want to take additional yoga and meditation classes.

"During a time of stress and isolation, it was uplifting to join Rachel's course. It left me with a sense of hope, healing and connection."

~ Maureen

Regardless of our past experiences, none of us escapes traumatic experiences.

We live in a world that presents us with difficulties everyday so whether we are experiencing personal or collective trauma, it is unfortunately part of life as we know it.

Research on trauma and the nervous system shows that embodied mindfulness practices are an essential part of the healing and resilience building process.

As a yoga therapist and instructor, I have  been developing and teaching mind/body and trauma sensitive practices for over 20 years.

With so many courses out there, what makes this one different?

  • I take an individualized approach to wellness so this is not a cookie cutter experience focused solely on relaxation techniques. You'll receive a library of practices and resources to help you respond to the specific needs of your nervous system.

  • This is a small group experience with lots of individual attention and space to build connections and get your questions answered.

  • My work springs from the intersection of yoga, mindfulness, neuroscience, psychology, embodiment and nature-based practice. This integrative body, mind, brain approach is easily digestible, actionable and effective.

  • I’ve created a unique blend of evidence-based practices that will rewire your brain to grow states of calm, connection and self-compassion.

  • You’ll learn the “why” and “how” of the practices. When you understand why a practice works, it increases your belief and confidence in the practice itself. The mind is extremely powerful and studies show that when we believe in something, it works better. Your understanding and belief in the practice will make it more effective and the change more significant and long lasting.

  • I’ve been teaching and developing these experiential practices for 20+ years and can say with absolute confidence that they work!

"I want to thank you for the guided meditations. For me it proved to be an invaluable way to stay focused and centered during these unprecedented times. It provided a beautiful space to connect, heal and process intense and complex emotions. I really appreciated your skills, the format and connecting with the lovely group of people you assembled."

Frequently asked questions

If you don't find all of your questions answered here, don't hesitate to send me an email.

Do I have to attend the weekly zoom classes?

All zoom classes will be recorded so you can watch at your convenience. That said, I recommend that you come to as many classes as you can. Part of what makes this course so special is the time allotted to connect with other students, particularly your accountability partner should you choose to work with one. Breakout rooms to reflect and share will be a part of the live class. If you aren't able to attend, I'll recommend that you stop the video and spend some time with self-reflection journal prompts.

I'm spending so much time online these days. How much time will I actually be at my computer?

Very little! We'll have a very interactive class on Tuesdays and I'll offer ways to feel more connected than the typical zoom meeting. Each week you'll receive a new set of practices, tools and resources to work with but this won't require a lot of computer time. This course is about building mindfulness and incorporating helpful practices into your day.

I've never practiced meditation or yoga before. Can I do this?

Absolutely. This course is for the beginning student as well as the seasoned practitioner.

How much time do I need to set aside each day?

I recommend 15-20 minutes per day for guided meditations and a few pauses built into your day to check in. I'll also offer journal prompts and suggestions to spend time in nature and move your body that you can explore at your own pace.

I'm a mental health/wellness professional. Will this course give me new skills to support my students and clients?

YES! You will definitely learn skills and techniques to help your clients regulate their nervous systems. If you'd like to talk about how this course might fit with your professional development needs, send me an email. Adding-on a professional mentoring component to this course may be a great option for you.

Is there any additional support available if I need individual support?

Yes! You are welcome to email me with questions throughout the course. If it would be helpful to set up a quick phone or video call, that's fine too. If you find you need additional individual support, you can purchase discounted mindfulness mentoring or yoga therapy sessions.

Is there a payment plan and or scholarships?

Yes and yes. You can pay 1/2 now and 1/2 in a month. And I do have a few scholarships available so please reach out if the cost is what's holding you back from signing up.

"This course would be very accessible for a newbie, and still totally novel for someone that has been practicing for some time. The structure was enough to keep me accountable, without being overbearing. I was given tools to help organize my skills and be able to apply them to my own life right off the bat. I expected to feel less stressed and reactive, but I didn't expect how much my interpersonal communication and relationships would flourish - a huge bonus! Thank you Rachel!"

Together we’ll build a healthy nervous system: the key to deep presence, contentment and joy.
